Is it actually legit history of the car from like day 1 to now? Build date and that kinda stuff? Where it's been? If yes, could someone maybe do this for the 944?
Here is the VIN:WP0AA0940EN460356

Aee you having issues or just interested in its history. Also isn't there a sticker in the drivers door saying info on it, like date of assembly, weight, and some other stuff?

Sort of only info that is logged with the VIN is shown. I know I keep every receipt for my vehicle to have full history.

Just interested in the history. I actually never checked the door this time. When I checked on the 911, I never saw a visible build date. May have to double check this weekend.

One of the running jokes about Carfax is how little information you really get. You only get information that gets logged to it's VIN. Usually that's an insurance reported accident, or dealership service IF the dealer submits it's info to Carfax (many dealers do, but definitely not all).
Many cars have ZERO information with Carfax.
Good luck!

Oh well. We have one on the Subaru. Every car is different. It might be in the trunk or engine bay. Or maybe the glove box. Those are the only places I could think of.
HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles

it will only report what has been reported to carfax. example, work done at a dealership will probly be reported, if an accident is claimed to insurance it should be there as well. However if some one hits a deer and has the work done at Joey''s Import Cars he's probly not going to report it to carfax or their affiliates. They can be pretty vague too. A report of "minor body damage" could mean the car hit a raccoon and the bumper was replaced, it if could mean a truck backed into it and the headlights, and hood were replaced. I've seen reports that say "engine replaced" at 110,00 miles because a work order specified that the engine need to be removed when it was really a turbo, or head gasket that was replaced. They aren't super reliable, and not even close to 100% of the cars actual history, but can be helpful non the less.
Oh one thing it will tell you is how many owners its had and where/when its been registered. When I was selling cars we had some one trying to trade in a late 80's Corvette he inherited, the carfax showed that it hadn't been registered since 1999. We ended up not not taking the car fearing that it would have problems since it had sat for well over a decade.

Carfax isn't as accurate as many people think it is. They only can report what's told to them, which is basically title history, police reports, and shop reports. They're great at telling you if it's ever had a salvage title because it's actually a title brand, but that's about it. Their check for odometer fraud only goes on their reported miles- so if a given state doesn't require mileage when renewing the registration and it's never fixed in a shop that shares their repair histories with Carfax they'll never know how many miles the car has. As for accidents? Really the only way they get data on that is from police reports, so if you wrap it around a tree and get it hauled off before the cops show up, Carfax never knows it was wrecked. Same goes for if the officer does not feel it necessary to file a report. Carfax doesn't carry many records from before the days every Tom, Dick, and Harry had a computer in his office- for older cars it's pretty damn worthless actually.
That said, here's your Carfax:
It appears Michigan did not keep computerized records before the year 2000.

This doesn't have a build date, but 944s have a build sticker in the hatch area. It's under the carpet kinda where the license plate is. The carpet is held in by snaps so you just pop the snaps and can see the build sticker. This is the sticker from the 944 Turbo I test drove a while back:
And here are the option codes .

Also, after a certain amount of time, mileage becomes exempt. Technically if 10 years down the road, I were to sell my 4Runner and claim 176k miles(where the odometer broke at) and it wouldn't be legally recorded.
